I was at my mate’s place when someone called her claiming to be from "her bank". The caller sounded quite friendly but ended up asking for her account details and the balance. Not sure what info he'd already managed to get, but I just shouted at her to hang up straight away!

My dad got a text saying £200 was taken out of his account, then this guy with an African accent rang him pretending to be from the bank! Totally a SCAM. No chance, blocked straight away!

Someone rang saying they were from NatWest, wanting to verify a recent payment was genuine. Since I actually have an account with them, I asked for the transaction details to check. Turns out the info they gave me wasn’t right at all. Then they asked for my date of birth to supposedly stop the payment. I thought about giving a made-up dob to go with their dodgy story but decided to just hang up instead. Definitely feels like some sort of scam, though I didn’t dig any deeper to be 100% sure what it was about.
