I received a rather dubious message claiming to be from my offspring, urgently requesting cash. Thankfully, I was curled up on the sofa watching films with them at the time, so I quickly realised it was a con. Such nerve!

I just got a message from +44 7752 019982. Total SCAM! My kid's right here with me, and my phone’s fine - I definitely didn’t send anything like that. So I blocked the number straight away. The text said something like “My phone’s broken, mum, I smashed it, I’m using a mate’s phone but it’s running low on battery. Can you ring me on 07940967876?” Honestly, don’t fall for it!

Received a message from +44 7752 019982. Definitely a SCAM because my kid was with me the whole time and my phone’s fine - I wouldn’t send anything like that. I’ve gone ahead and blocked the number now. The message said something like, “My phone’s broken, mum, I smashed it. I’m using a mate’s phone but it’s nearly out of battery. Can you text me on my new number 07940967876 x” - total rubbish.
