Got a call from a robotic voice saying it was HMRC. They told me to press 1 to chat with a representative. Then some person on the line said there were three cases in my name and needed my postcode to figure out which one belonged to me. Next, they said there’s an arrest warrant out for me because I dodged taxes and mortgage payments. That’s when I realised something wasn’t right. Told the caller I’d ring HMRC myself to check, and they quickly hung up. I did call HMRC afterwards, and they said they never make calls like that or threaten with arrest warrants. Total scam.
