Got a text saying: “HMRC Alert - Overpaid tax due 22nd April.” The message was full of mistakes, even the date was wrong! It asked me to visit this site: HMRC[###]taxrefund[###] to check if I owe any tax. Out of curiosity, I googled the number, and it turned out to be an old T-Mobile line linked to Abkhazia. The craziest bit? It was my previous phone number, which made it all seem even sketchier! Definitely a scam, so watch out folks!!!
