Today I got three messages from some suspicious company called valuestaymobi and shopsafe. I’ve been with 3 network for a bit over two years now, paying £51 a month for unlimited calls, texts and data. I just renewed my contract for another two years and got an iPhone XR with the deal. I’m gonna get in touch with 3 UK about this because if I’ve been charged even a penny above the £51, I’ll be straight with them and say I’m stopping payments until I get the money back - and I’m holding onto the iPhone XR too.

First it was dead quiet, then I could hear what seemed like a busy call centre, but no one actually spoke. Didn’t bother answering, just blocked it.

Saw a charge of £4.50 on my bill after getting a text from this number. Rang Three, my network, and they sorted a refund for the £4.50 and stopped the number from messaging me again. Definitely a scam. No idea how this is allowed by law.

Got loads of texts from a couple of numbers labelled freemsg and shopsafe about some health thing. I blocked them straight away but they’ve already taken £4.50 off my phone bill. I’m on Three and they were no use, told me to get in touch with the company myself. I’ve now reached out and told them someone’s investigating their business and I want my money back. They said I should get another message from the post office in the next week to pick up my refund.

Started getting random texts from shopsafe and freemsg. I've sent stop now. Heard that O2 agreed to give back money to a customer who got scammed this way, which sounded fair. Sadly, I'm with Three, and when I spoke to their rep, they wouldn't offer me a refund. Received a message from Shopsafe, I quickly blocked the number and activated Three’s safeguard so it stops these sorts of calls automatically. It also blocks premium numbers so they can’t rip you off. Watch out, this one’s a bit sneaky.

Got a FreeMsg message earlier and then a little later a text from ShopSafe. I looked up ShopSafe right away and ended up blocking both these numbers. I'm on a contract with a limit on my data so I doubt they could take any cash from me. I'm with network 3.

Just received a message promoting healthy eating followed by a pin from Shopsafe. Somehow, they’ve taken £4.50 from my account. They claim there’s no option to block these texts, but I never replied to any message to verify my number, so how can they even use it? Absolutely rubbish.

Called Shop Safe and left a voicemail, but just got their answerphone. Then rang 02 and found out it's a scam, and there's no refund coming. Proper annoyed how they can drain money from Pay As You Go phones, leaving nothing for emergency calls!

Thank goodness, i thought it was just me. Got the exact thing last week. Had a look at my bill and saw some random extra fee. It turns out i got a couple of texts about smoothies and then a pin code from ‘shop safe’ or something i’ve never heard before. Rang o2 and they managed to fix everything in the end.

Got a dodgy text from this number, [#]tip-deck[###], out of the blue. Didn’t even reply but somehow they took £4.50 off my phone balance. Tried sorting it with the UK providers but no luck, they just gave me an email for the company: [email protected][###].my. The company’s called Veoo Ltd., and their address is 22-25 Eastcastle Road, Fitzrovia, London, W1W8DF. They also have a number: 08001577502. Beware of these types of scams!

Got a text from ShopSafe plus a couple more about smoothies. I rang O2 straight away since I’m on Pay & Go, they confirmed these were scams and have given me back the money - £4.50 and 35p in random charges. Glad they sorted it out quick!

Just replied STOP to 84648 again and got a warning to watch out online. Three places said they can’t block these scams right now but said they’ll cancel the £4.50 charge. Thank goodness! Total rip off, watch out for any 5 digit numbers!

Got a message from these guys but it didnt have a number so I couldnt call back. It told me to put a pin in on their site. I rang my mobile provider and they said this firm had made me pay through the nose with extra charges for their “service.” Ive blocked the number, got my cash back and got in touch with the company. Last year I received a scam text that was different, and when I spoke to 3 (the network provider), they told me it wasn’t possible to get the money back. However, they said I could block any charges beyond my plan allowance going forward. Seems like that’s doing its job since I just got this new scam text but haven’t seen any weird charges yet (though it’s only been about an hour since the message arrived).

Hey. Got a message like this about a month back, but I don’t recall ever agreeing to anything like that. I just ignored the text like it told me to. Then, out of nowhere, I spot a £2.50 charge on my phone bill a month later, but no follow-up text or anything. They gave me a London number to call to fix it, but no one picks up. This feels like a rip-off to me. Watch your bills, people, looks like some sneaky monthly subscription you never asked for.

Got sent a weird PIN by them and was pretty worried at first. Rang up O2 but they were hopeless, didn’t seem to know what was going on at all. Got a text from +46 7191202148513 saying it was from shopsafe with a pin code. When I rang the number they gave, they told me I’d been hit with a premium text charge and a subscription on my phone bill. They ended up cancelling the subscription and the charge for me since it was clearly a scam. If you get a message from this number, definitely check with your mobile provider first!

Got a shopsafe pin sent by text. Then I got these tipdeck alerts messages and noticed £3.50 taken out. To cancel, I had to text ‘stop’ to 84648, ring 0203 514 6266 for tip deck and block 84648. They gave me an email, heip@megapromo[###], to ask for a refund and said my number was deleted from their system. Really not happy about this.
