Yet another robocall has barged into my day, causing quite the nuisance!

I received a phone call from someone claiming to be from the DVLA, saying I was eligible for a refund on my vehicle tax. Initially, it seemed quite convincing, but as the conversation progressed, they requested sensitive information, like my driving licence details. It soon became evident that this was a fraudulent attempt to gather personal data. Definitely a scam!

Who on earth is this? Some bloke calling about "Sponge" - apparently a mate's nickname. Can't imagine anyone calls their friend Sponge, sounds like a pest. They wouldn’t believe me when I said I’m not Sponge. It's quarter to ten, so maybe they're drunk or it’s an old number from a friend, but I really hope that’s not it.

Who’s this? Got a call from some bloke asking for someone called “Sponge”, said it was their mate’s nickname. Can’t imagine anyone actually having a friend called Sponge, so I reckon it’s just some pest. Didn’t believe me when I said I’m not Sponge. It’s 9:36pm, so maybe they were off their trolley or it was an old number of a pal, but I really hope it’s not.

I keep getting loads of calls like this one. It’s always a recorded voice telling me to press 5 or 9 to stop getting calls, then they start going on about some government debt programme. The message never changes, but the number does. No matter how many I block, another pops up. They left a message on the afternoon of 18 March.

It’s some debt collection company. I keep gettin’ the same recorded message but from loads of different mobiles. I’ve blocked every number they’ve used but they keep ringin’ me from new ones over and over. Proper annoying.

Got a couple of calls back to back from what looked like the DVLA about a refund. It's been happening loads recently from different numbers that you can’t block either. They said I could get money back on my car tax and wanted info from my driving licence, which is funny coz I don't even drive. Pretty obvious that it's a dodgy scam.

Got called by some dodgy debt collection line. It’s one of those automated messages saying you're owing money or whatever. Like others have said, I keep getting calls from loads of different numbers and blocking them as they come. Next time they ring, I’m gonna endure the whole message instead of just hanging up in fury part way through, so I can figure out exactly who they are and get in touch to warn them about legal trouble for pestering me.
