Since January 2021, Charlie Adams has been holding onto my money. He finally replied to my email in February 2022, promising he’d repay me, but I haven’t seen a penny yet. Just a whole year of excuses and no payment.

He started the job and actually got some cash upfront, which was weird since he hadn’t finished much at all. Turns out, the job was a mess so I had to bring in another bloke to sort out all the leaks properly. This guy also has an Instagram, but I doubt he even bothers checking the messages. Now I’m trying to get my money back.

I’ve been caught out by a scam too. The person kept making up all sorts of weak excuses that didn’t add up at all. It’s proper embarrassing to realise I was taken in like that. I’ve also decided to report it to Action Fraud to see if they can do anything.

The guy still checks his emails, so they could probably push the court papers through using those details and maybe an outdated address. Feels like he’s done it on purpose - changed where he lives and ditched his phone number to avoid being tracked down.

The address they have for him isn’t right anymore since he’s relocated. It’s really important that everyone reports him to Action Fraud, so they can gather all the evidence and those affected to build a case. If anyone has more info about him, please pass it on to Action Fraud. Without a current address, it’s tricky for police or civil claims to go anywhere.

Got a plumber named Charlie Adams from Leatherhead, partner's called Leanne Lucas. Paid him ages ago, like 10 months back, yet still no sign of the job being done or my cash returned. Honestly, I wouldn’t hand over a penny till he actually finishes the work.

Had a look on Checkatrade to find a plumber and found a guy called Charlie Adams. Paid him upfront but he never showed up to do the work. Went round to the address listed on Checkatrade and was told he doesn’t live there anymore. Seems loads of others got done over by him too. Checkatrade have taken him off their site but won’t admit any fault. The current resident said Charlie hasn’t been at that place for ages. Feels like anyone can get on Checkatrade these days! If anyone knows where he’s moved now, please let me know, I want to send him court papers!

Tried pulling all sorts of dodgy excuses to scam me, but luckily my bank sorted it and gave the money back. If you mention legal reasons, Checkatrade actually hands over his home address. I’m gonna show the cops this page, so please make sure you’ve reported him too - we need as much evidence as possible to build a solid case against the bloke.

Somebody called themselves Charlie Adams, said they were from Checkatrade and replied to our request for a plumber in the area. But a week later, they've gone completely silent - their phone doesn’t work and their website’s down. Had a look elsewhere and found loads of bad reviews calling him all sorts of nasty names. I’ll be letting Checkatrade know, though it’s strange he’s connected to their enquiry system at all.
