I received a rather intimidating call concerning some supposed unsecured loans that I’m allegedly liable for, warning me that court action could be impending unless I took action. The catch? I don't have any such loans at all! The caller adopted a rather menacing tone, but when I pressed them for their name or any details about their business, they outright refused to provide that information. Eventually, they just hung up on me when I inquired about how they obtained my phone number! Quite the distressing experience, to say the least.

Got a call from someone who knew my full name, said they were with Financial Security, and claimed there were unpaid debts with my creditors. They wanted me to confirm it. I asked where they got my info from but couldn’t make out what they said because of their thick accent. Told them “I’m no fool” and ended the call, then blocked the number straight away. Somebody called saying they were from the Compliance Dept of Citizens Advice. They started asking about some unpaid debts and loan repayments, then tried to get my personal info. They said my details came from the Office of ??? Trade (couldn’t quite hear). When I told them I cleared all my debts over 10 years ago, they just ended the call. Totally a scam, no doubt.

I’ve been getting a barrage of calls from an Indian call centre, all trying to sell me life insurance or extended warranties for household gadgets. It’s like they’re casting their nets wide, hoping to catch someone gullible enough to bite. It always starts with a woman who claims to have a lovely English name. I was anticipating an important phone call, so naturally, I thought it might be the one I was waiting for. Got a call from someone saying they’re with Orbit Energy, chatting about some energy price cap. They knew my name but got dodgy as soon as I asked where they got my number from. Blocked them straight away!!!

Got a call from this number again out of the blue. I answered and just left the phone down without saying anything. A guy with what sounded like a British accent kept saying “hello” over and over for about 17 seconds before he just hung up - guess he knew I wasn’t falling for whatever scam he was trying.

This number rang me twice in the last couple of days. Luckily my phone showed it as a possible scam so I ignored it. Still, I was curious and looked it up here. Seems like I’m not the only one, so I’ve gone ahead and blocked it!

Got a call from someone who actually knew my name (which was odd). She was saying I’d won some kind of free prize, but the line was so bad I couldn’t catch what she was on about, even when I asked her to say it again. There was a lot of noise, like a busy office or something in the background. Definitely gonna block that number.

Got a call earlier from someone claiming to be with UK Lifestyle Choices telling me I’d won an iPhone. The woman on the line was really hard to understand, sounded like she was in a noisy place. I asked for some proof by email before giving any info, but she said they couldn’t email because it was a recorded call. I told her to forget it and not to bother calling again. I’ve blocked the number for sure - total scam!

If you get a dodgy call, just text ‘scam caller’ to 7726 and the phone companies will look into it and block the number. Same goes for dodgy texts, forward them to 7726 and they’ll handle it.

I received a rather unwelcome call from a telemarketer who had my complete name and was prattling on about my life insurance. I mentioned GDPR to them and insisted they take my information off their records immediately.

07938015745 rang me yesterday - I didn’t pick up, but it looked like a regular mobile number, so I sent a text - no response. They phoned again today, but I let it go to voicemail. Then I figured it could be about a blood test I had done recently, so I tried calling back. Couldn't get through. I looked the number up on Google and ended up here, so wanted to share my experience. Writing this on 30.07.2019, hope it helps anyone else looking it up. Number’s blocked now!

I got a call from this number and it sounded like they were shouting over a noisy office or something, but weirdly it was from a mobile. They claimed it was about my "electricity and gas" bill, but when I said I couldn’t catch what they were saying, the bloke got all snappy with me. Something felt off straight away so I just ended the call. Wouldn't bother answering if I were you.

Got a call from this number earlier. The bloke had an Asian accent and oddly knew my name. He claimed to be with HWF and wanted my thoughts on energy companies. I just cut the call short and blocked him right after. So, there's my feedback for ya.
