Phone number ☎️ 07937947572 👆 is reported as a persistent scam operation targeting sellers on platforms like Shpock and Gumtree. The scammer, often using the alias Michael Elliott or similar names, claims to have throat cancer and employs the story of being housebound with an agent collecting items post-payment. They offer full asking prices but request victims’ PayPal and bank details, occasionally insisting sellers pay upfront fees supposedly for courier or agent costs. Multiple users highlight suspicious communications off-platform, broken English, and fake PayPal emails. Despite numerous reports, the scam continues unabated, advising caution: never share personal financial details or transact outside the official site’s secure systems. Reporting suspicious activity to platform admins and Action Fraud UK is strongly recommended.

Unbelievable, they’re still using that exact same tale about throat cancer for years now!!! [email protected] why isn’t this account blocked yet? Someone just tried to con me on Shpock, it was obvious phishing to grab my PayPal info. I reported it but seems like no one’s bothered to do anything about it.

Yeah, this nutter called me up, but I’m not one to put up with that rubbish. So I just gave him some made-up number and email, then had a right laugh at him, slagging off his daft name and saying his mum must be mortified. Told him he’s not a scammer, just a proper modern-day beggar, too lazy to get off his tatty sofa and actually do something. I had a right old go at him, and what does he do? Messes himself and blocks me. Couldn’t handle it one bit. Just mess with them a bit, and trust me, they’ll whine and quit like a whining toddler.

Someone on Shpock was ready to pay me the full price and said they’re from Surrey while I’m based in London. They tried to get me to click a link about Bitcoin. Total SCAM! I checked my PayPal and found out that paybis.com doesn’t work with PayPal at all. Nice try, but it was a dead giveaway. No way was I falling for that.

I got two offers from some1 trying to buy an item from me at the sticker price, coming from [email protected]. Since Shpock mentioned this person’s based in a different country, I thought I'd dig a bit and found loads of info right here. Turns out, they seem to be a bit of a scammer. I’ve told Shpock about it, but who knows if that’ll make any difference. Fingers crossed, though!

Got an email from [email protected][###] on Shpock, claiming he wanted to buy my books for more than I asked, but kept saying collection only. He kept telling the same sad story about beating throat cancer, which is really upsetting as a mate of mine died from it, so it’s not something to mess about with. I wouldn’t trust Shpock for this kinda thing - I stubbornly replied to him but have reported him now. Seems like he’s been doing this for years so doubt he’ll stop anytime soon.

I gave him an old PayPal account that’s not linked to anything. Next thing, he says he sent over 250,200 and I gotta pay some dodgy agency. When I asked about the agency, he just stopped replying!! Somebody with the email [email protected][###] messaged me on Shpock, saying they’d pay full price for my item. They then sent me their email telling me to remove the listing because payment’s confirmed, just like a few others mentioned. On Shpock, there's a user named m M. who puts up an offer, asking you to get in touch via email. The email he gives is [email protected][###]. He claims he can’t leave his house because of throat cancer and asks for my PayPal and bank details. Then he deletes his listing on Shpock, so you can’t report him properly since the system needs you to pick the user. I managed to contact Shpock about it somehow, but probably best to keep everything on the platform as there’s at least some accountability, unlike just email.

That was my first and last time trying to sell something online, time to stand up for myself. Ring [#] and report to actionfraud.police[###]. You can get a proper phone number by calling 101 and asking the operator for it. If the police get enough reports about this bloke, it might lead to a bigger probe. Really sorry to anyone else caught out by him.

Just got scammed by this bloke! I foolishly gave him my PayPal email, but as soon as I realised, I rang PayPal to alert them. They've now cancelled that email from my account and switched to my backup one. From what I’m reading in everyone’s stories, the cash never actually comes through unless you pay some “handling fee”! I’ve been emailing this muppet to let him know he’s been found out, but no reply yet. Fingers crossed that’s the last I hear of it. Should’ve trusted my instincts instead of thinking too much.

So this person called LL wanted to buy a kids trampoline off me for £40 but instead of talking on the phone, they asked me to contact them only by this email [email protected][###] (Amelia McMohan). Same situation, no proper response except emails. Both claimed they’re seriously unwell and said a courier would collect the items and pay via PayPal. Sounds dodgy to me.

Had the exact same experience. No doubt this is a total scam.

L.L on Shpock has just sent me a message saying 'Hi, is your listing still available? Please reply with your final asking price via email at [email protected][###]'. Glad I looked it up first. I told them I need to make sure they can pick it up before anything else. Let’s see what happens next.

Had the same thing happen to me, I was helping sell a TV for my brother and I was tied up at the time. Never had any bother on shpock before. I gave the buyer my brother’s bank info and his address, then got this PayPal email. They asked for £200 when the TV was only meant to go for £55. That’s when I got suspicious. I replied straight away saying there’s no way I’ll send that money. But now I’m wondering, should we be worried that they’ve got my brother’s details?

Hey, I just had the same thing happen with someone using the name L.L on Shpock. They said they’d buy my item at the asking price, then asked me to get in touch via email at [email protected][###]. After that, they told me to take down the listing, said they couldn’t come in person because of throat cancer, said they’d send an agent instead, and asked for my PayPal info. I’ve blocked them on Shpock now.

I just went through exactly that. The story was the same, had cancer. On Shpock selling a wheelchair. It was gonna cost £200 to post it to them. Then she put the wheelchair back up on the site. And guess what happened? This low life sends an offer. Then they switch from a she to a he, but keep the same email. Crazy!

This email [email protected][###] got in touch asking about an oven I put up for sale. The name used was Beatrice Wallace. They mentioned the usual throat cancer tale, an agent with £200, and told me to check my emails. I only gave out my PayPal - should I be concerned?

[email protected][###] This person messaged me on Shpock saying they wanted to buy something and asked me to email them my final price at that address. I went ahead but felt really uneasy since I've had loads of similar dodgy messages before. Sure enough, it turned into this long story about how they're stuck at home with throat cancer and would arrange an agent to collect the item, asking to pay through PayPal, and wanting my email, full name and bank info. Honestly, I’m fed up with these scammers constantly trying it on!!

Looks like the same individual is using a different name on Shpock now, goes by Fiona Anne, jii M. Just a heads up, be careful.

Really happy I checked him out first, was about to buy something and then he started with this whole throat cancer tale. I wouldnt deal with him on Shpock and insisted on using only PayPal through his "agent". Feels like a risky character.

[email protected][###] Got the same thing, someone trying to buy my TV from Shpock, claiming they have throat cancer. Asked for my Paypal info, bank details and even my address. Total scam.

[Email protected][###] This for sure is a scam, someone got in touch with me about buying my TV and used the same throat cancer excuse. Then they asked for my PayPal which I don’t even use and it all felt a bit off. They wouldn’t just pay into my bank account which was suspicious. Later they messaged me again on Shpock from the same email. Claimed they’d done a transfer but I had to pay £200 myself to some ‘agent’. Honestly, why would an agent be needed to pick up stuff? It just didn’t add up. Really think something should be done about this kind of thing.

Got a message from someone calling themselves “j.J” on shpock, asking about my curlers and wanting to handle it all through email. It felt a bit fishy, so I decided to search the email address. Glad I trusted my gut and looked it up!

Got a message claiming to be from PayPal, but it was just a scam trying to get me to click on dodgy links. They wanted me to visit fake websites pretending to be PayPal. Watch out for these sneaky fraud texts!

Hey there. I had a really similar experience with someone named Michael Elliot who sent me an email saying he had throat cancer and wanted me to send PayPal info through email. He also contacted me about something I’d listed on Shpock, made an offer and asked me to confirm the price by email. It seemed a bit off so I did some digging and found stuff about this scam. On Shpock, he used the name J J but never actually bought or sold anything. Really appreciate you putting this out there.

I got a suspicious call that seemed legit at first, but then they sent me an email talking about throat cancer and asked for bank info and an agent’s details. Definitely set off all my alarm bells! Total Shpok scam for sure.

Really grateful for everyone’s advice. My girlfriend was chatting with someone called "Michael Elliot" about buying our buggy off Shpock, and he kept going on about having throat cancer and that his wife just had a baby but he couldn’t leave the house. When she told me the story, it didn’t add up at all! He said he’d already sent £400 via PayPal and she needed to send £200 back because apparently that’s how PayPal works. The email he used was mic.elliot1@gmail[###] Please be careful and steer clear of this guy!

Someone tried to buy £500 worth of stuff I had on Shpock. Same old story: claimed to have throat cancer, told me to remove the listing. Said an agent would collect the goods and promised payment 'soon'. Three hours later, still nothing. Got suspicious and looked up the email they sent me from... bam, this scam thread appeared. Email was beawallstoresllc@gmail[###] Steer clear of this one - I’m bracing myself for them to ask me to send money to some supposed agent. I’m gonna keep playing along just to see what happens.

So happy I decided to Google this number first, seems like they’re up to their usual tricks! They sent me a personal message offering to pay full price and asked me to email them, which I’ve never done before. They also wanted me to remove my listing from Sphock. I did as asked but then went completely silent. My husband said it sounded dodgy and told me to search online to check who they really are. Turns out they’re scammers. Has anyone actually sent stuff to them? It’s disgusting behaviour, especially since they pretended to have cancer. What a vile thing to do.

I received that exact email and, to be honest, I naively gave them my PayPal details and address since I’m trying to sell a bike on Shpock. Can someone please tell me what might happen next? I’m really anxious about it.

Today I got caught up in that Beatrice Wallace scam on Shpock. It’s really disgusting that folks would do stuff like this, especially now with everything going on and everyone just trying to make ends meet during the pandemic.

I got the same email from beawallstoresllc@gmail[###], saying they wanted to pay through PayPal and that an agent would come pick up the goods somewhere we agreed on. Thankfully, my sister fell for the exact scam a couple of years ago, so I wasn’t daft enough to go along with it this time.
