I got a text that really threw me off at first and I was about to hand over my bank info straight away. Luckily, I paused and went to check my account - it turned out the payment was already taken, so all good there. It only dawned on me afterwards that genuine messages from EE always come with their name displayed, never just a phone number. The text said something like, "EE: We couldn’t process your recent bill. Avoid extra charges by updating your payment details here: [#]ee.update.ref0115[###]/?ee=2" which felt a bit dodgy once I thought about it.

Got a call from this number today. The person claimed they were from Amazon and said someone had hacked my account.
