Received a text saying 'Barclays: Your OTP is 230165 for a transaction of £750.26 to NEXT. If you didn’t authorise this, ring +441442780572 REF-G6843'. Since the message came from a mobile number, I suspected it wasn’t really Barclays and thought it was a scam. I contacted Barclays fraud team to check and they confirmed there’s no record of any such purchase. They told me it’s probably a clever new scam method.
