Many feel harassed by frequent emails and calls warning about GDPR breaches and unlawful use of tracking tools, leading to anxiety about potential legal action. While some see him as a bothersome “data-protection do-gooder” disrupting their digital work, others acknowledge the helpfulness in uncovering hidden privacy issues that their web developers missed. 5 monthsSome bloke online calling himself a hero is going around snitching on companies. Seems like he’s out to catch any business that hasn’t signed up with the Information Commissioner or that’s been sending marketing emails without asking properly first. Bit annoying really, like he’s trying to fix the internet or something.5 monthsAbsolute pain in the neck. I’d tell others to avoid the hassle and make sure their websites are sorted right from the start. This guy kept pestering me even after I’d slapped a consent banner on my site. It wasn’t until he started sending threatening letters about court cases and reports that my web designer adjusted the tracking to what he wanted, and only then did he back off.8 monthsHad this bloke banging on about GDPR to loads of companies, sort of anti-Facebook vibes. Seemed a bit bonkers at first. But weirdly, he did us a favour by spotting all the dodgy bits our old website guy sneaked onto our site. We’ve since got rid of all that rubbish and gave the developer the boot.9 monthsHad a run-in with some data protection enthusiast with way too much free time. They definitely go after folks like me, running a small biz and trying to get a grip on all this digital stuff. I attended a local workshop about marketing and how to put tracking on our site, only to later discover that a bunch of these tracking tricks are illegal. Now this geek is threatening legal action - and the event organiser hasn’t said sorry for the hassle they caused me. Just a heads up, think twice before you poke the bear.1 yearI got a call out the blue after receiving an email accusing me of having illegal customer tracking on my website (which I didn’t even know about, some outside web developer must've added it). At first I figured it was some dodgy scam, but then he went on about how these big US tech firms misuse data they grab from me and how he just wanted to put an end to it. We ended up removing the tracker. Honestly, it turned out to be quite useful advice.Submit Your Own Report (07935 182119)
