I wasn’t home, but a family member picked up and talked like the person who lives here. Feels like one of those dodgy scams where they record you saying yes or no, then mess around with voice recognition stuff. Quite worrying really.

someone called asking if i owned the house and then rattled on about the new shop opening in town centre. they wanted to know what kind of discount voucher i'd find helpful. i mentioned i was on the tos list and asked for their company name, but they refused to say. so i just ended the call - pretty irritating really.

They called and asked if I was the owner of the property. I just stayed silent and kept the phone on, didn’t say anything at all. Eventually, they got bored and ended the call themselves.

Just went ahead and blocked those annoying calls! Too much hassle otherwise.

No idea who that was or what they were after... I wasn’t in when they rang and they didn’t leave any message once my answerphone kicked in. Reading through other comments, I’m relieved I missed it. I’ve gone ahead and blocked the number now. Oddly though, it either didn't show up on my call blocker or that app is less reliable than I expected - maybe the number’s dodgy, or they’re trying to cover their tracks? If it helps anyone, the number that popped up on the call blocker was 0180 332 97847. Still no clue what that was about, so watch out folks.

I accidentally said "yes" during the call and right after, the person just ended the conversation. I reckon it’s some kind of scam and I’m pretty sure they’ll ring me again, trying to scare me into giving them personal details or demanding a payment to stop them from using my name to take out a huge loan. They’ll probably claim I agreed since they’ve got my voice saying "yes" on a recording.
