I recently received a rather alarming message and I assure you, I owe no one anything. I attempted to return the call, but there was absolutely no answer. The content of the message was as follows: It stated that due to my purported failure to settle a debt with a Bailiff, the enforcement officers acting under the direction of Her Majesty's Court and Tribunal Service had come to my address with plans to seize and remove my belongings. It was highlighted that the Magistrates Distress Warrant grants the high court enforcement agent authority, as outlined in Schedule 4A of the Domestic Violence, Crime and Victims Act 2004, to forcibly enter my property should I neglect to clear the outstanding fines and associated costs. The message warned that I could avert the confiscation of my possessions and the hefty fees that come with removal by making an immediate payment. Otherwise, it threatened that enforcement agents, accompanied by locksmiths and the police, would return to my premises to take my goods, even if I were not there. It concluded ominously with the statement that no further notifications would be provided. And here I am, two months later, still waiting for them to collect my goods. Quite the situation! 😉
