3 yearsI received an unexpected call from 07931 165344. A woman with a strong foreign accent claimed to be representing O2, offering me a rather enticing 30% discount on my bill. She mentioned sending two text messages and urged me to provide her with a code from the second one. This message, however, alarmingly stated: *Be vigilant against fraud* and warned me NEVER to share this code, not even with O2 employees. It also instructed me to use the code xxxxxx to access my My O2 account. I pointed out to her that the message explicitly said to never reveal the code to anyone, even staff from O2. She dismissed my concern, claiming that the warning didn’t apply to our conversation! Then she inquired about my email address, which she should already have if she genuinely had access to my account information. I declined to provide it, leading her to abruptly end the call. If O2 truly wished to offer me a discount, it could be done promptly without the need for sharing codes or personal details.
