Got a call from a bloke claiming to be from Virgin Media, sounded Indian. He said he was ringing to offer a free upgrade to my internet. I played along and asked where exactly he was calling from. He said Virgin’s main office. I asked him which city that was, and he said London. Then I asked what the weather was like there. At that point, he snapped at me to stop messing about and hung up! Made me laugh though 😄

Got a call from 03002009038 and they just wouldn’t pick up when I tried back. I avoid picking up calls from numbers I don’t know nowadays. How come these scam people keep getting fresh numbers all the time? It’s proper annoying.

Got a call from someone with an Indian accent saying they were from VirginMedia about an issue with my "internet connection". I told them I’d just ring VirginMedia myself because it sounded fishy, and then they just ended the call straight away.

Just got a call from this number today at around 1:30pm (5/11/19). The woman on the other end initially spoke in a language I didn't recognise, sounded Indian, then switched to English saying she was from BT and calling about my internet. I asked why she wasn’t speaking English from the start and questioned her purpose. She repeated the same line, so I called her out on it saying I didn’t believe her. Then she told me to ‘shut up’ and hung up! I’ve blocked the number now, but I’m sure more will ring soon.

Got a call from a woman with an Indian accent, sounded like she was in a busy call centre: "Hi, I'm ringing from BT Technical about your broadband." I asked, "Sorry, why are you contacting me about my internet?" Then she replied, "Hello, I'm from Sky Technical support." I was like, wait, which is it? I asked again why they were calling about my internet. Then the call just dropped. Classic scam move, but seriously, pick one company and stick with it, don’t keep switching names!

I picked up and this woman just muttered a bit and then laughed, but I couldn’t really catch what she was saying before she ended the call. Pretty sure she wanted me to ring them back. Don’t ever call those numbers back though, I’ve heard they might show up as a local or mobile number but actually charge some huge premium rate, which could end up costing you a fortune.

Today at about 2.50pm I got a call from 07930272829 claiming to be from BT. The bloke, sounded Asian, said there was an issue with my router that had supposedly been emitting harmful signals for a couple of weeks. When he started asking how many gadgets I had linked to the router, I ended the call straight away. I had a call just like this one last week, so seems like they’re targeting me repeatedly.

Got a call from a number I didn’t recognise roughly an hour back. I just let it go on ringing for around 10 seconds before it stopped. These days, I usually leave unknown callers ringing for about 15-20 seconds before picking up - scammers rarely stick around that long anyway.
