Got a call on the home phone at about 9:55am this morning. When I picked up and said hello, there was a pause, then an American accent came on saying, “Hi, this is the bank fraud department.” I instantly hung up. It sounded like some sort of automated voice reacting to my words. They didn’t mention any particular bank and since we’re ex-directory and signed up with TPS, I’m pretty certain this was a scam. Best advice is to just hang up straight away and flag the number as suspicious. Don’t engage, it’s risky.
