I got a call from someone saying they were with the Essex Police, asking about how the police have been doing around here. They didn't try to get any of my personal details or my name (which I wouldn’t have shared anyway). The woman on the phone sounded quite nice, so I didn’t mind answering her questions.

Got a call out of the blue today from someone claiming to be doing a survey for the crime commission about Essex police. When I asked why they were cold calling, they got quite defensive and insisted it was an official survey. They wouldn’t explain how they even found our number, but clearly knew we’re in Essex. Seemed really unprofessional and just a nuisance.
