Some guy rang up, said he was from ‘deeper discounts’. He somehow knew I’d just cancelled my Virgin Media broadband but wasn’t sure when exactly it ended. He offered me a deal for £17 per month. I told him I already switched to another provider. He said if I ever fancy coming back, I could give him a ring on that number.

Some bloke named Neil rang me claiming to be from Virgin Media. He came across as quite friendly and even mentioned stuff about our house and street, so it felt legit at first. But then he started asking for personal info like date of birth, which made me suspicious straight away.

I got a call from a bloke saying he was with Virgin Media asking if I was still struggling with my internet setup. When I asked how he found my info, he just said some alert popped up on his system telling him to ring me. We’ve never been with Virgin Media and have no plans to sign up. He wasn’t rude or anything, but it seemed like he was fishing for info which I didn’t share. Feels like it could be a scam to me.

I received a call from this number today, with a chap on the line purporting to be from Virgin Media. He was inquiring whether I was still facing issues with my internet setup. The problem is, we’ve never been customers of Virgin Media and certainly have no plans to join. This caller mentioned that my information had popped up on his ‘system’ and that he needed to discuss my connection issues. Quite frankly, I’ve got a strong feeling this was a scam, and there’s a good chance he would have tried to extract sensitive info from me, like passwords or banking details. Keep your wits about you!
