1 yearWanted to let everyone know that this dodgy caller is still ringing from the same number, spinning lies to try and get your card info. The big red flag is they ask for the three digits on the back of your card. You don’t actually need to provide those for any kind of refund, but these scammers want them so they can nick your cash. Watch out!1 yearSomeone rang me saying they were from Domestic & General and offered a refund. They asked for my card information, and I naively gave it to them without thinking. The very next day, a payment showed up on my bank account that I didn’t recognise. I contacted my bank straight away and, thankfully, they managed to get the money back. Lesson learned - I’ll definitely be more careful about who I trust on the phone from now on.Lesson2 yearsSCAM ALERT!!! If you run a business, just ignore calls from this number. They seem to be trying some fake refund scam. Better safe than sorry!2 yearsJust had a call much like the one mentioned before. They claimed they’d charged me by mistake and were looking to sort a refund, but said my card was out of date. They sounded really polite and explained everything clearly. They even told me the card number they said was used for the payment. I checked it on some credit card checker site and it turned out to be from a bank I’ve never dealt with. Total scam alert.2 yearsGot a call from some bloke trying to get info off an elderly lady with dementia. Felt awful but glad I rang her coz she was madly searching for her bank stuff. That dodgy guy was pushin’ hard for her details. Told him to just send a cheque instead. Later, I checked the number online to see if it was a scam and sure enough it was.2 yearsThis number rang me earlier and left a voicemail claiming to be from Legal & General about some kind of refund. The voice sounded quite posh, so just watch out for this one!Legal & General2 yearsSo, I got a call from some bloke claiming to be with Domestic & General saying I was owed £179 because I’d cancelled a policy but they’d kept taking payments. I couldn’t find any proof of cancelling anything though. Then he asked for my card info to “refund” me. I rang D & G straight away and they told me it’s a scam, adding they would always send a letter instead of calling. Glad I didn’t hand over any details!Domestic and GeneralSubmit Your Own Report (07926 793851)
