Heads up, this number tries to get you to sign up and hand over your bank info supposedly for energy grants. It seems proper convincing at first glance, but if you scroll down, it clearly says you don't have to apply at all. Watch out!

Beware of this number, they're trying to trick folks into signing up for an energy discount of £400. The website link they send out looks exactly like a government site, but it's actually a scam. People should be really careful as it’s quite risky.

Just got a message saying I could get a discount on my energy bill. From what I read on the official government site, they only send out vouchers or discounts and would never ask for your bank info. But the link in that message asked for my bank details right away, with hardly any info provided before that. Seems dodgy to me.

At around dawn on 6th September, I got a message saying GOVUK: You qualify for a reduced energy bill through the Energy Bills Support Scheme. It included a link: https://energybills-project.com. But when I checked the official Gov.uk site, it said the £400 discount happens automatically, spread across my bills from October to March. So, I assumed I didn’t need to do anything. I’m not gonna risk clicking on a random link from a text out of nowhere.
