Some bloke rang me about a “broadband upgrade”, claiming to be from Openreach. He was going on about how many flashing lights my router had (!), and insisted I needed to tweak it. When I questioned him, he already knew I was with the Post Office - so looks like he got hold of a list of new Post Office customers somehow. I’m not sure it’s super dodgy unless he tries to get me to mess around inside the router itself, so I’m just marking it as “harassment” for now.

Just the other day, and then again this morning, I got a call from someone with an Asian accent claiming to be from the post office. They said they were doing some upgrades at the exchange. The last time, the caller wanted me to test my internet speed on the computer. I rang the post office myself and they told me if it was legit, the call would come from their official number. I’d love to have faster broadband here, but how are you meant to be sure these calls are real? When I started asking questions, the bloke said he wasn’t going to take any more 'abuse' and just ended the call!

I got a call from a bloke who had quite a posh British name but spoke with an Asian accent, said he was from BT Openreach. He was asking about the lights on my router and wanted to check something on my laptop - the usual spiel. I told him I wasn’t interested, as I’m pretty sure the broadband speeds here will improve soon anyway. He didn’t agree and said he’d call me again tomorrow at 8 in the morning. Honestly, I’ll just leave it unanswered.
