I actually sent a message to the number claiming to be HMRC because I thought it was a scam. Then, not long after, I got a reply from HMRC themselves saying it really was them. They even included a gov.uk link so I could verify it personally. Quite confusing!

Got a message from this number recently. The text said something about funding being active in my area and that my property might get free grants to cut down on rising energy bills. It asked me to reply ‘Yes’ to apply. Honestly, seems a bit dodgy to me, so I wouldn’t trust it!
