Received a call yesterday from someone purporting to be with Scottish Power, looking into a debt that, while it is indeed ours, we believe has been handed over to a debt collection agency. They asked for a meter reading, but I explained we weren’t at home at the time. When I asked for her extension number to ring back later, she informed me that she didn’t work in the call centre and, rather unhelpfully, hung up. I've tried reaching Scottish Power's debt department earlier today, but apparently, they shut shop at 5. Must be nice to work a regular 9 to 5!
