Got a text from this number claiming to be from govuk saying the government has sent out £284.76 to every resident to help with covid-19. It had a link ‘uksupport-residentservices[###]’ which seemed dodgy to me, so I just ignored it. Felt like a total scam.

About a week ago, I got a call from this number. It was a bloke with an English sounding name, but honestly, he didn’t sound English at all and I struggled to catch what he was saying. The only thing that stood out was something about a ‘credit investigation department’, but he wouldn’t say which company he was from. I told him if he can’t explain properly, he should just send me something in writing, then he ended the call.

so there was this ppi scam going on, they kept pushing me to start some kind of investment since the refund was apparently massive, like 22 grand or something. when i asked how many folks actually got tricked, they told me for just £30 they’d wreck my whole family and might even kill them. honestly, what a lovely lot to deal with.

i reckon this was a call centre or something. as soon as i answered, after a few seconds i heard a click like the call got connected, but then nothing, just quiet. i didn’t hang about and blocked the number straight away.

I got a call from some idiot who began coughing loudly and then asked if they were speaking to me by name, before bursting out laughing. Shut it down and blocked straight away since I never even said a word.
