Got a call from someone with a strong Asian accent who kept struggling with my name. Claimed to be from the National Refund Agency and mentioned something about the FCA. Said I had a PPI payout of £1875 waiting to be paid within 3 months. I told him straight up I don't have any PPI claims, and he sounded a bit puzzled before just cutting the call. Definitely a scam!

I get why people are annoyed with these calls, I’ve had loads coming through recently with various numbers claiming to be from some Credit Checking Dept. But do we really need all the harsh comments some folks have been leaving? When I pick up, I usually tell them I’ve saved the number and that I’ll be reporting it to the police and Trading Standards. That seems to do the trick!

Got a call from someone saying they’re from a PPI company, then they claimed I’m owed a refund from the tax office. But hanging on was the catch - they said to get the cash I need to buy a life insurance policy for a few months first. The person sounded like they were in some call centre abroad, and they kept ringing me like mad, sometimes up to 10 calls every day. Pretty annoying.

Just ignore it, total scam alert! Don’t pick up or respond to it, definitely a scam call. Stay safe and don’t get tricked!

I got a call about some PPI refund, and they actually asked me to give my bank info. Felt a bit dodgy if you ask me.

My father-in-law, who's getting on a bit, got a call and gave them our phone number like we told him to when he gets these random calls. The person on the line started off saying she was with some UK government agency but then quickly switched to talking about unsecured loans and credit cards, which was obviously a PPI scam. I told her firmly not to ring us again. The number shown was from abroad and the caller had a strong Indian accent too.

No idea what they were after. If I pick up and it sounds like a call centre, I just reckon it’s a pest call. Instant BLOCK, no questions asked!
