Got a call from someone claiming to be “UK Insurance” about giving me back some loan insurance money. When I called them out for being a scam, they started getting really rude and aggressive.

This number rings our home phone nearly every day. When I answer, there's a long pause and then they just hang up. On another occasion, a bloke with an Indian accent called saying he was from BT and wanted my account info for “verification”. It’s obviously a scam trying to steal personal details. What I do is chuck the cordless handset into the cutlery drawer and give it a few sharp shakes. Since these scammers usually have delicate headsets on, they end up hanging up pretty quickly.

Got calls from this number two days running, left a voicemail by mistake on the first. In the background, I heard a British lady picking up another call, but I didn't catch who it was from before the call just stopped. Both calls came about 5pm. Tried to ring back but the number didn’t come up as valid. I've gone ahead and blocked the number now!

Got a call and started belting a tune down the line, then got blocked straight away!

Got a call from a bloke from India who said he was FCA approved and wanted to chat about life insurance. He kept calling me "mate" and was pushing some deal that covered me till I was 90 years old. Then he handed me over to his colleagues, but none of them managed to snag my bank info, so after a bit they just gave up and stopped calling.

Got a call on my phone on the 11th of April 2017 but they just hung up after a few seconds. I decided to check the number and after seeing what others said, I went ahead and blocked it. Seems like this person’s been quite active bothering others too.

A lady with an Indian accent answered and wasted no time giving me her name and the business she worked for, though I can’t remember exactly what it was called. She was after info about my boiler, saying there’s a government grant available if it’s over five years old. I told her to send me something in writing instead, then I ended the call.
