Someone called me saying it was about ppi, but it just didn’t feel right to me.

They said I had some compensation cash waiting to be collected for a claim I supposedly made. Thing is, I never made any claim at all. The number looked like a UK mobile but it’s definitely from abroad. Feels like it could trick vulnerable folks.

Dont pick up! They ask for your bank info claiming they want to give you a refund, but it's a total scam!

Hey, just wanted to share I got a call from this number on my phone earlier today. Then, I got another call this afternoon from 079201535350. Too much of a coincidence if you ask me. The person on the line had an accent and asked for me by name. Said they were from some UK financial company. When I asked what they wanted, they just ended the call. Weird!

They called saying they were from some financial company wanting to give me back money from a loan I supposedly overpaid, but I’ve never even taken out a loan. Best to just block and ignore these people - don’t get caught up with them at all.

got a call from someone saying theres cash waiting for me from some uk financial company, but when I asked for a number to ring back, they just cut me off straight away. then, a few hours later, almost the exact same call came through from 07920251634. it really worries me how easy it is for older people to get tricked by stuff like this...

This number rang me up recently. The caller had a strong foreign accent and their English was really poor! Honestly, I couldn’t catch what they were after and they butchered my name - and I’m not even English either. Turns out the company’s from China, somewhere called Jiujiang City in Jiangxi Province. Watch out though, they use loads of numbers within the range 079201530000 to 079201539999 - that’s like 10,000 different numbers! They blend in with normal mobiles pretty well, so it’s tricky to tell them apart.

I was wondering if this is one of those PPI scam numbers, you see the person who called me didn’t sound British at all.

Got a call from someone claiming they’d sort out my PPI refund. I told the bloke I don’t share my personal stuff with people I don’t know, and then he just ended the call.

I got a call from some guy saying I might be able to claim PPI on a personal loan. I couldn’t believe it when he started asking for my personal info right there on the phone. I just ended the call straight away.

Got a call about some insurance refund linked to a credit card loan from years ago, like a decade back or something. Then, just as I started to ask questions, they suddenly ended the call. Quite fishy if you ask me.

Some bloke said he wanted to send me £1500 from “a loan I supposedly took out in the past decade” but then asked for my bank info. Felt a bit dodgy if you ask me.
