Someone rang me pretending to be from my bank - they even mentioned the local branch and bank name - asking if I needed support with my mortgage, loans, or credit cards because of Covid. I told them I’d just ring the branch directly to be sure. They said they were working remotely, which is why they were calling from a mobile, and gave me the name Mandy, saying she was a mortgage adviser. When I phoned the bank’s main line, the adviser there confirmed they wouldn’t ever make calls like that or from a mobile number.
