Got a spam txt from +447916081617 (07916081617) on 15/12/20 at about 9.15pm, said it was from hmre and that I had some tax refund waiting. I sent it straight to my network by forwarding it to 7726, the free number all UK mobiles use for reporting spam messages.

Complete scam, getting calls about fake tax refunds from HMRE or something like that. Total rubbish.

Beware of this number, it’s definitely a scam! They say they’re HMRC and tell you there’s a tax refund waiting (which is total rubbish). The site they send you to is something like taxrefund-gov[###]-uk-claims[###]. Don’t fall for it!
