Got a call just now pretending to be from Amazon Prime, saying they’d taken £79.99 from my account. Sounds like one of those classic scams that never go away. How long have these been around for anyway?

I’ve had loads of calls from that number, it’s part of one of those dodgy computer security scams. They threatened to take out £1000 to “renew” some contract that I don’t even have with them. This time, the bloke had an Asian accent and called himself ‘John Miles’. These kinds of calls have been coming for ages now.
