I got a phone call from someone saying they were with the UK fraud squad, telling me that my National Insurance number had been hacked and that all my bank accounts and credit cards would be locked unless I pressed 1 to talk to the investigator. Usually, I’d press 1 and then pretend to be a detective from the local police, asking for their personal info so I could send officers round to their place. You’d be amazed how fast they hang up when you do that! Shame I was driving when they phoned me, couldn’t have a proper go at them.
