So this woman rang up saying my home care and drainage plan was up for renewal, saying it was the last of the three years. She mentioned I could get a discount since I hadn't made any claims. I kept telling her we already had a policy, yet she tried to get me to pay before even sending any documents. I told her no, but it really freaked me out that she already had my name and address. I’m ex-directory and always cautious about sharing my info with anyone.

Got a bloke on the phone saying he wanted to update my plumbing and drainage insurance from 2018. Could hear loads of dodgy background noises like some cheap call centre. Seriously, who has a room full of people in these days? Nope, didn’t buy it. Blocked straight away. Bye bye Mr fraudster.

Got a call from a bloke claiming to be from Home Care, said he was covering kitchen appliances and that my 3-year contract was ending this year. He mentioned the paperwork was ready to be sent. I thanked him and told him I’d sort it out once I got the documents. As soon as I hung up, I blocked the number straight away. Nah, no thanks, Mr Scammer!

I got a call from someone saying they were from HomeCare, the appliance coverage folks. They insisted I had a policy with them and needed to make another payment. I told them I’d have a look into it since I had no idea about any policy. After checking, there was no paperwork or any debit in my bank account to back it up.
