Got a call from someone overseas pretending to be from Amazon asking if I’d bought the new iPhone 16 the night before. I hadn’t made any order, which I reckon was the trap they set to catch me out. I asked them for Amazon’s official number to check if it was a legit call. They just said it’s on your phone and I could ring them back. I insisted on a proper Amazon landline number, then they started getting really pushy. I told them straight up it was a scam and ended the call. Usually I don’t answer unknown numbers but was waiting on a plumber, so I took a chance. Not clever at all.

Got a call from someone saying they were from Universal Credit, but insisted on chatting over Whatsapp. That struck me as odd since I've always dealt with them through the official government website, never outside it. Felt a bit dodgy to me.
