Just got a text claiming to be from the DVLA, but it was clearly dodgy. Don't fall for it - rubbish! If you're in the UK, you can send any weird texts to 726, and the network will take action against those numbers. Also, if you get any fishy emails, make sure to forward them to [email protected] to help crack down on scams.

Two texts showed up on my phone from 07908 490687, one on Saturday and another today, Sunday 17th January 2021. The first one talked about my Netflix account supposedly being cancelled, and the second one mentioned something about car tax from the DVLA. I didn’t bother with either and just deleted them straight away.

Got a text pretending to be DVLA with a link for a refund? Nah, sounds like a proper scam to me. Dodgy lot!

I got a message on my phone claiming to be from the DVLA, saying I'd paid too much car tax and was owed some cash back. It included a link to claim the refund, which seemed a bit fishy given how stingy that lot usually is. I just deleted it straight away! Fun fact: shortly after, I’d actually posted off my licence renewal form - I’m over 70, so it’s a thing. Makes me wonder if someone’s been meddling with my post or something.
