I got a text claiming I was due a tax refund but my partner quickly told me to be careful. I checked it out and turns out it was a scam number. They tried to get loads of my bank info and even sent a link that looked like an official gov.uk site, but it was dodgy. Glad I didn’t fall for it!

Total rip off, just a scam!

At about 2 in the morning, I got a text claiming it was from HMRC saying there was a tax refund waiting for me. I’ve since blocked the number, just to be safe.

Got a text saying I’m due a tax refund and to look into it by clicking some link: gov.uk-details.org. Sounds dodgy to me, since real UK government sites always end with gov.uk, not .org! Pretty clever attempt though, had to laugh.

Got a text saying something about a tax refund with a link to click on. Felt kinda sketchy so I didn’t bother opening it.
