I recently received a text dated 26/1/2001 that read - just as it was presented (take note - there’s no period between Gov and UK). GOVUK: Owing to the updated lockdown measures, you’ve qualified for a COVID-19 compensation of £277.59. To claim, kindly go to https://conclude-claim-govuk.com. This message is fraudulent! Take heed, as responding could definitely end up costing you. Stay vigilant!

Received a couple of messages posing as if they were from Gov.uk, claiming I was entitled to £277.59. What a bunch of shameless scammers! The link they provided was clearly dodgy, as it didn't even resemble an official government URL. I've gone ahead and reported this number to my mobile network provider. What a joke!
