Got a message saying "Hi Mum, this is my new number." Then it went on about needing cash for a phone bill and not being able to use online banking. Mum would definitely call me directly if she needed anything, plus at her age and with her poor eyesight, she’s not on internet banking at all. If it was one of my kids, they’d say which one, and they’d ask their dad for money anyway, not me! So, I just blocked the number and reported it. The start was tricky, making it unclear if it was really my mum or one of the kids pretending to be me. Pretty sneaky. Marked it as risky.
