My partner received a text supposedly from his "daughter" about a phone mishap involving water damage and the usual rice trick. They asked for £1639.90 to be transferred to a Michael Swain, sort code 11-00-38, account number 11606869 (which is linked to Halifax). He quickly called his daughter on her other mobile, and she had no clue about any of it. Watch out for these scams!
