Got a call from someone saying they were with ‘British Telecom’ - which seemed odd since I thought they’d dropped that name ages ago (instant suspicion there). They said they'd been keeping an eye on my internet and spotted three hacking attempts. When I questioned how they had my number, they said it was listed in some central database - problem was, it was my work phone number, and not even the right work mobile at that. Maybe they mixed up numbers, but getting a call that early, around 8:30am, made me think it was definitely dodgy.
