Hey mum, got these messages from this number that supposedly are from me, saying I've broken my phone and giving a new contact. My wife and three mates also got the same texts. Looks like a phishing scam to me.

I've just received a message from this new number, and it’s clearly the same dodgy crew trying to pull a fast one. They previously sent me an identical text last week, pretending to be my kid, claiming his phone was 'out of action' or something. It’s been a constant stream of requests for money. Quite outrageous, really!
