Got a text saying some payment with Halifax was sorted, but I never set anything up. Seems dodgy to me, so watch out if you get one too!

Got a text on my phone saying I’d added a new payee on 28/01 at 12.05pm from Halifax or something. It asked me to click a link if I didn’t recognise it, but the link looked dodgy - something like https newpayeealert.lived. Didn’t open it, seemed like a classic scam trying to steal account details. They probably use bots to pluck phone numbers, hoping they hit someone with a Halifax account. Bet they do the same thing pretending to be other banks and building societies too. Watch out, it’s a total trap!

Someone rang me claiming there was an issue with my internet. Curious, I tried calling the number back from a different phone, but it just said the number wasn't valid or something. Felt a bit dodgy if you ask me.

Got a call saying I was owed a tax refund from HMRC. Didn't buy it, so I blocked the number and reported it straight away.

Got a text about an HMRC tax rebate, looked dodgy so I blocked the number and reported it as phishing. Be careful, it's probably a scam!
