Got a message claiming I had some kind of High Court notice because of an unpaid PCN. Thing is, I don't even have a car or motorbike, so it couldn't be about me. The text had a dodgy bit.ly link which was obviously a scam. I'd advise everyone to just delete stuff like that and warn others to stay sharp, especially if they or someone they know is dealing with anything like parking fines or legal stuff right now.

I got a voicemail but didn’t pick up. The message mentioned the Government picking me to assist with energy bill payments or something along those lines. I just deleted it. These kind of calls really ought to be banned because folks who genuinely need help might be tricked into responding.

Got a call claiming to be from the high court about some debt I supposedly owe. They started asking if I was single and wanted my address, even though I don't use social media. I told them I wasn't going to answer as it didn’t sound legit and they just hung up. I did end up giving my address though, and nearly got scammed.

Been getting about 15 calls today from this number, they just hang up after 2 or 3 seconds every time. One time a woman said it was some sort of government program, mentioned like 4 or 5 different schemes to wipe out my debt. I usually don’t pick up mobile numbers I don’t recognise. A proper company wouldn’t call from a mobile, surely? Blocking them now.

Got loads of calls from this bloke, kept saying he’d call over and over till I gave in to him, then started threatening to send some kinda stuff to my address (didn't quite catch what). Claimed he was from some Credit Investigations team linked to the government and was chasing me about a debt. Seriously, don't pick up from this number, this sort of thing really needs sorting out.

Got a call from a man with an Indian accent saying he was with a debt relief service. He told me a debtor passed on my details but couldn’t say exactly where he got them from. I told him I don’t owe any money and he just hung up. I can see how folks struggling with money might fall for this, thinking it's legit help. Something needs to be done about how these scammers get hold of personal info and what punishments they get. Seems like GDPR isn't stopping this kind of stuff at all.

I got a call from this number and it was a bloke with an Asian accent claiming to be from Citizens Advice. He told me I owed money and they could sort it out for me. When I said Citizens Advice wouldn't be ringing me about debts, he just ended the call.

Got a call from an Indian bloke claiming to be from Citizens Advice. He said it was about some 'Gorman' or 'gourmet' debt charity with a scheme to help reduce my massive interest payments. Kept asking how much debt I had, but when I asked where he got my details from, he just kept going on about the debt charity and some government plan. Then out of nowhere, he said he was with UK Money Advice in Manchester. Told him I wasn’t sharing anything since he’d mentioned 4 different organisations already. Next thing, he just told me to 'F##k off you b##ch' and slammed the phone down. Proper rude!

Got a call from an Indian bloke, but since it was from a mobile, I didn’t share any info to see who they thought they were speaking to. They only seemed to know my first name. I put him on speaker and just let him hang there. My thinking is, if I don’t give any details and keep him on the line, it might stop him bothering someone else. Feels a bit dodgy though, so I’ll be reporting it to EE for them to have a look.

Got a call from them for the first time this morning. They said they could help me save 40% on my energy bills. Somehow they already knew my name and address. They try to get loads of details about your electric and gas providers so they can get you to switch and pay through them! The woman then passed me onto a manager after I was a bit cheeky. Definitely BLOCK THESE NUMBERS!

An Indian bloke rang me from this number during work on Thursday and Friday, saying he was from the Manchester Citizens Advice Bureau. I was swamped and told him I wasn’t interested. Then he called again on Saturday morning, same story about debt management and the Manchester Citizens Advice Bureau. I called him out for lying and told him to take my details off their list. He just shouted, "F##k off b##ch." No idea who these people are or who they represent, but they seriously need to be shut down.

He rang my partner, but I picked up since he didn’t recognise the number and was curious who it might be. An Indian guy answered, asking who I was but refused to say which company he was from. His tone got more hostile, so my boyfriend grabbed the phone, clearly annoyed, asking why he was speaking to me like that and demanding to speak to a manager. 07903832796, an Indian guy claiming to be Gary Jones, called me and seemed to know loads about me. He said he was from the DWP and that my payments were being stopped because the bank asked for it. Then he offered me a loan to clear it. I told him I was expecting another call and then rang DWP and my bank straightaway. They connected me to Action Fraud, which you can find here: https://actionfraud.police.uk/. They use other numbers too, and someone mentioned on a police site that these scammers know where you live, your age, your bank details, your job and any benefits you get.

Got a call from a guy claiming to be from CAB, and I played along to find out what he wanted. He started telling me I had debts I hadn’t paid, which isn’t true. So I asked him exactly what debts he meant and who I supposedly owed money to, since I’ve actually worked in debt collection before. Then the bloke got really rude and started shouting about calling the police because I owed them money. I told him to go ahead and call. Weirdly, he said he was in my hometown and even named the place. No idea how he knew that!

Got a call from a guy named Dave, sounded Indian, saying he was from CAB and there’s some money I supposedly owe. Claimed it’s a government scheme to help folks clear debt. This number called us and it was a man with an Indian accent saying he worked for a cab company and asked if we owed any money. He said he wasn’t calling to sell anything, just to stop calling our phone. When I said he could ask a question, he shocked me by saying "do you have sex with your wife every day?" and kept repeating it three times. I told him he was being very rude and then he just ended the call.

At first, they mentioned they were from Citizen's Advice. I spoke with the person on the phone to gather some details, and the website they gave me is www[###]oneyadvice[###]. The only clue to a company name was tucked away in the site's terms and conditions - Finance4me Ltd. I looked them up on the Financial Conduct Authority’s site, and it seems their licence isn't valid anymore. I’m definitely planning to report this.
