Got a text from someone claiming to be ‘the council’ saying I owed money for a parking fine and including a link to pay it. Felt off straight away since (1) I’ve never parked in any council car park, nor got a ticket stuck to my car window, and (2) official parking fines never come through texts, they usually arrive in the post. I’ve blocked the number now just to be safe.
