Someone rang me up claiming they could do a grant-backed survey on my roof to fit solar panels. When i asked if the survey was completely obligation-free for me, they just hung up. Seems like the government grant actually goes straight to the homeowner, not the person doing the survey. Plus, the survey fees get tacked onto the final bill for the installation. After the survey, there’s a lot of pressure to follow through with the work. Definitely felt a bit dodgy to me.
