Got an automated call supposed to be from HMRC, saying there’s been some sort of fraud claim with my name on it and to press 1 to talk to someone from HMRC. Both me and my husband have got these calls over the last week, and we hung up before the message finished ’cause it sounded dodgy. I saw on a local Facebook group that these calls sometimes end with threats of legal trouble, which could really scare older folks who might not know that HMRC wouldn’t get in touch like this. We blocked the number straight away.
