Got a call like this the other day, some bloke with a posh accent on a recorded message telling me my national insurance number had been "breached" or something. He said I had to act fast or it’d be frozen and I could get into trouble with the law! Then he told me to press 1 to talk to someone. I just hung up straight away. Classic scam stuff, really, but I can see how it could freak out anyone who doesn’t know about these dodgy calls.
