I got a call from a woman with an Indian accent warning me about unusual activity on my Amazon account. She said someone had made some purchases and wanted to know if it was me or someone in my family. Then she asked what kind of phone I had and told me to open the app store, probably to pull off some scam. She never asked whose Amazon account she was referring to, which seemed very suspicious. Plus, I don’t even have an Amazon account! When I told her that trying to steal money like that was outright robbery, she just hung up on me.
