Just received a text supposedly from HSBC saying they spotted a new payee on my account and asked me to click a link. Problem is, I’ve never had an HSBC account or anything to do with them ever. Definitely a dodgy scam trying to catch people out.

Got a text supposedly from HSBC, but it’s dodgy. The message wanted me to click a link that looked pretty real, but like loads of people have said, banks don’t send links from mobile numbers like that. Definitely just a scam, so I blocked the number straight away!

This was clearly a scam pretending to be HSBC, which is odd because I don’t even have an account with them.

Got a text supposedly from HSBC about a payment made to a new recipient. The grammar and spelling were really bad... and no legit bank fraud team would send a text from a mobile number asking you to tap on a suspicious link. Definitely a scam. Wish there was an easier way to get phone providers to trace these scammers and take legal action.
