This is definitely a scam from someone pretending to be HMRC. I got a call from this number with a recorded message saying I owed back taxes. HMRC doesn’t contact people like that at all. Best thing to do is just block the number and don’t answer next time.

Got a call from this number, and it was one of those recorded messages saying I owed tax and was wanted by HMRC. Just to be clear, HMRC wouldn’t ever handle things like this on the phone with a robo-voice. Best thing is to just hang up and if you’re concerned, look up the official HMRC number on their website and reach out to them directly. Definitely a scam, so don’t fall for it!
